Very much just another blog

The best laid plans never did run smooth. The paths we mapped, the routes we plotted in time and space. All the things we said and the things we thought we had, all the equipment we forgot to pack: the coffee pot; the purple box, and then realised half way that supplies were low.

And yet, and yet, on my skin is written the story of you and the journey that brought us here. In the lines on my palm is the shape of your love pressed into me and when I am alone I remember that you are written there. Perhaps soon we will understand that we carried one another on a broken and happy path, and when I thought you had damaged my wings I could not see that in fact you had mended them, as I had yours.

Now we are, each of us, ready to begin.

  2. Eight lines of utter loveliness.
I like the new longer sentences too; almost counter-intuitive but strangely beguiling.
